Men's Soccer: Eagles Defeat Warren Wilson 2-1 for Third Straight Win

Jason Campbell put Trinity on the board early, and Gabriel Guzman broke the tie late with the game winning goal as TBC Eagles Men's Soccer defeated NCAA Division 3 Warren Wilson College 2-1 on the road Saturday morning in Macon, Georgia. The win was the third straight to start the season for the undefeated Eagles.

Just three minutes after kickoff, Campbell scored an unassisted goal into the lower left-hand corner of the net to give the Eagles an early 1-0 lead.

The score remained that way throughout the first half and well into the second until Warren Wilson's Hullibutton Chinyama went top left to tie the score at 1-1 in Minute 64.

Guzman, though, received a pass from Calvin Vicuna and fired from the top of the box to replicate Campbell's goal into the bottom left corner with only 4:52 left to play for what turned into the game winner.

The two teams both forged more opportunities in the final few minutes, but Trinity's defense thwarted the attacks by allowing only one shot that Mason Lambert saved andclearing away a pair corner kicks.

Lambert saved 7 of 8 shots on goal faced out of 20 total attempts. TBC shot the ball 12 times, and 8 of them were on goal, including 3 of 5 from Ashton Karney.

The Eagles will next play four consecutive home matches starting with NAIA Middle Georgia State University on Thursday, September 12. The three that follow are against NAIA Webber International University on September 16, NCCAA Division 1 University of Fort Lauderdale on September 21, and NJCAA Andrew College on September 25.
