TBC Eagles Men's Soccer held an NAIA Sun Conference opponent to only two goals and thwarted 19 other shot attempts in Monday's home match against Webber International University at Losco Regional Park. The Warriors from Webber International, however, played even stingier defense in winning the match 2-0.
Goalkeeper Mason Lambert saved 7 of 10 shots on goal faced and got help on an eighth in holding the Warriors to a low total. Most of Lambert's saves were on the dive far to either side.
Defensively, Casey Cuprit, Donald Mello, and Kevin Arita led the effort with Arita blocking an open-net attempt, and Ralph Richardson added plenty of assistance in helping to make 11 more shot attempts miss wide or high. All players contributed mightily on the defensive side of the pitch.
Webber, though, scored one time in each half: Jesus Solarbe in Minute 8 and Connor Wood on a save-rebound in Minute 69.
TBC had shot attempts from Gabriel Guzman, Ashton Karney, Jason Campbell, Richerdson, and Arita. Three of those shots were on goal, but Webber goalkeeper Ben Parkinson saved all three.
The Eagles will have some time off before their next match when TBC hosts NJCAA Andrew College at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25. The first two South Region contests follow at Toccoa Falls College on September 28 and Bob Jones University on October 5.
