Men’s Soccer: Eagles Open Season at D-1 Jacksonville

Freshman Noah Amesbury scored his first collegiate goal as TCJ Eagles Men's Soccer opened the season at NCAA Division 1 Jacksonville University. The goal is the first for the Eagles in 2025, and the JU Dolphins are the first official D-1 opponent the Eagles have ever played.

Amesbury's unassisted goal came only 1:28 after kickoff to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead, but that was the only shot the Dolphins' defense would allow in the first half.

The Eagles took 6 shots in the second half with 2 of them landing on goal. Freshmen Leandro Concepcion (3 shots, 2 on goal), Daniel Moreno (2 shots), and Diego Perez all took aim in the second half, but JU goalkeeper Christian Sekenina saved both of Concepcion's shots on goal.

Eagles sohpomore goalkeeper Christian David saved 8 of 17 shots on goal faced in his first game as a TCJ Eagle. Nine different Dolphins scored goals for Jacksonville.

The Eagles will open the home portion of the schedule against Central Georgia Technical College at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 26. Four more home games follow between August 28 and September 8, all starting at 4:00 p.m. South Region opponent Carolina Christian is among those visitors on Labor Day Monday, September 1.
