Men's Soccer: Moreno Scores Hat Trick in Eagles' 4-0 Win at Andrew

Daniel Moreno notched a hat trick, and teammate Joao Pedro Cury Mendonca added a fourth goal late as TBC Eagles Men's Soccer defeated Andrew College 4-0 Monday evening in Cuthbert, Georgia. The win was the fifth in six games for the Eagles and second straight to start a seven-game road stretch.

Moreno scored in Minutes 11, 18, and 53. His first goal came with the assist from Noah Amesbury, who stole the ball right at midfield. Amsebury dribbled to the top of the semicircle and found Moreno to his left. Moreno fired past the goalkeeper for the first of three tallies on the night.

Seven minutes later, Diego Perez (assist) intercepted an Andrew throw-in, dribbled insode the box, and found Moreno in the center. Moreno connected with the right corner of the net for Goal #2 on the night.

After halftime, Moreno completed the hat trick in Minute 52 with an unassisted goal. Moreno dribble into the left side of the penalty box, got around the lone defender to the right, and fired inside the left post. That was his third score of the night and fourth of the season.

Mendonca's goal came with two minutes remaining. Aaron Uribe (assist) dribbled to the top of the semicircle and found Mendonca in a play very similar to the Amesbury-Moreno connection earlier. Mendonca fired into the left side of the net to log his first collegiate goal.

TCJ goalkeeper Christian David saved all four shots on goal faced, including one on a penalty kick. David made a diving save to his right to keep Andrew off the scoreboard.

The Eagles took 13 total shots with 8 of them on goal. Moreno put 6 of his 7 shots on goal, and River Turlington's two shots were both on goal. Andrew goalkeeper Warren Lane saved four.

The Eagles will visit Jacksonville's NCAA Division 1 University of North Florida for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff on Tuesday, September 23; the game will stream live on UNF's ESPN+ channel. TCJ will then visit Central Georgia Technical College on September 26. Three more away games follow with two of them at South Region opponents.
